  Hans Hultgren is author of the book Modeling the Agile Data Warehouse with Data Vault.

  The data vault consists of three core components, the Hub, Link and Satellite.  While we are all discussing certain exceptions and details around Data Vault deployments, I thought it would be useful to “get back to basics” on the main building blocks.  In the end, committing to these constructs in the most pure form should be our main goal.

  About Hans

  Hans Patrik Hultgren is a Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence educator, author, trainer, and advisor.  Hans is currently working on Business Intelligence and Enterprise Data Warehousing (EDW) with a focus on modeling and architecture including Ensemble and Data Vault modeling.  Hans works internationally primarily in Nordics and EU (based in Stockholm), USA and Canada (based in Golden, CO) and down under in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane as well as Auckland and Wellington.
