Two Parts: Data Effectiveness & Committees - From seeking approval the right way to keep it going once you do
      – In-Person & Virtual Course

John Ladley is a highly experienced practitioner, advisor and advocate for organizations looking for sustainable value from information and data. His experience and knowledge is balanced between treating data assets as an essential component of modern business and economies, and the practical solution of business problems.

      • John’s books are the authoritative sources for Data and Information Management and Data Governance. He is a recognized authority and speaker on enterprise information management, including data monetization, information and data architectures, data governance, MDM, data quality, BI and Analytics, data warehouse and knowledge management. John is sometimes called the "senior statesman of data." Currently John is semi-retired and works with clients as an advocate for data governance and management and as a mentor to organization leadership.
      • "Unofficially" - data and information management is something John didn't go after. It found him. And as digital data becomes woven into the fabric of our existence, John believes we all need to accept a reality where fundamental corporate and organization structures, policies and process will change. Society itself needs to change. This is an anthropological issue. The economic doctrines of Land, Labor and Capital now have a new friend - Data. We are ill equipped for this new age.

You may reach him via email john@ladley.biz or web www.johnladley.com

TOPIC: Data Effectiveness – Are you seeking approval the wrong way?

The quest continues amongst the “data-rati “ - How do we get approval of what we do? Data folks cannot seem to get required recognition and support. We are now starting to deal with “data management has failed” pundits. What is the answer? How do we get data assets to be properly managed?

To do this we need to explore a few things:

      • Why do we lose engagement or never get it?
      • Are we doing what we can, or have we missed something?
      • What are we really trying to do anyway?

From there John will offer some practical steps to acquire true engagement, and data literacy in the process.

TOPIC: Committees (and other annoyingly necessary aspects of data governance)

One of the biggest issues with data management and governance is the inability to keep it going. Nothing seems to stick. What is going on? John will cover the basics of data operation and execution

      • How to stop the temptation of creating new positions and organizations
      • Essential aspects of program execution that are routinely ignored
      • Fear of metrics and measuring
      • Maintaining interest

As usual, John will offer some practical actions, and tie the two topics together.
